The Flying Carers

On Saturday 10th July four members of staff at Westburn Road - Paul, Michelle, Angelica and Hazel are taking part in a charity Sky Dive at Errol Airfield near Dundee  to raise funds for Archway Westburn  Road where they all work. They hope to raise £1000 for the unit.

Stuart Henderson’s Hill Climb Challenge - 7 Munros In 7 Days

Day 1: Ben Vorlich 

Day 2: Ben Nevis

Day 3: Sgurr nan Coireachan, Garbh Chioch Mhor and Sgurr na Ciche

Day 4: A'Chralaig and Mullach Fraoch-choire

Day 5: The five sisters of Kintail: Sgurr na Ciste Duidhe, Sgurr na Carnach, Sgurr Fhuaran,  Sgurr nan Saighead and Sgurr nan Spainteach

Day 6: Geal Charn

Day 7: The Lochnagar Hills - Cac Carn Beag, Carn a'Choire Bhaidheach, Carnant-Sagirt Mor, Cairn Bannoch and Broad Cairn.

On 17th July Archway service user Stuart Henderson, his brother Scott and dog Bailey had planned to set  off from Archway in Dyce  to undertake  a huge challenge -  to climb 7 Munros in 7 days to raise funds for Archway Dyce.

Unfortunately Stuart hasn’t been too well lately and is not fit enough to undertake the whole  challenge.  Stuart still hopes to climb the first and last munro while his Dad  will step in and complete the rest for him.

Stuart’s parents are paying for the accommodation and brother Scott is paying food and transport costs so all monies donated will come straight to Archway

Sky Dive for Archway

We are looking for people from all over the country to make a sponsored parachute jump on our behalf and in return we are willing to pay for it!

The sky diving events are offered all over the country and run by professional events organisers Skyline who receive a flat rate per jumper for organising the jumps for us. Skyline specialise in organising fundraising events for charities so if you have any questions please ring them directly as they are in the best position to answer your questions - you can contact them on 020 7424 5522.  There are many dates to choose from – so you will always find a date to suit.

There are three different types of parachute jump for you to choose from. We ask you to raise a minimum amount of sponsorship money in order for you to jump for free (from £360 depending on the type of jump you choose) and in turn we will receive an average donation of £140.  In addition to this, every extra pound that you raise over the minimum comes straight to the charity, so please try to raise as much as you possibly can!
